A 59-year-sometime man allegedly punched a pregnant woman, who is besides deaf, and her service canis familiaris during a Borderland Airlines flight from Colorado Springs to Orlando on Th.
The Orlando Police Department told the Orlando Sentinel that Timothy Manley was traveling with his family and was seated about a deaf couple with a service dog.
According to police, Manley's married woman complained nigh existence allergic to dogs after the plane landed and taxied towards the gate. Manley told law he felt the family's service dog, a Great Dane, "took upwards more than infinite than [he] felt it deserved." He then reportedly punched the animal with a airtight fist.
The dog let out a yelp and hid underneath a seat, which caused the couple to try to express acrimony at Manley.
Manley then "got into the man's face" and punched the woman, who is xx weeks significant, according to the Sentinel.
The altercation continued every bit the two families exited the plane and entered the terminal, where the pregnant adult female's fiancé tackled Manley and held him at that place until police arrived.
Police said that the case has been turned over to the FBI.
Using sign linguistic communication, the pregnant woman told ABC affiliate WFTV that her fiancé only tackled the man because he hurt their service dog.
"My fiancé started yelling at the human being and said, 'Don't you ever touch our dog. Don't bear on a service animal always,'" she said. "'That'southward not OK.'"
However, Manley'south wife told WFTV that the whole incident was a "misunderstanding."
Manley'south wife said that her married man "accidentally swatted the [service dog] when it startled him, simply he couldn't convey that" to the couple.
